Stretching

Stretching lengthens the soft tissues and muscles. Dynamic stretches require the animal's movement to stretch the targeted muscle groups, whilst static stretches require someone to hold a stretch for the animal.

Benefits of stretching:

  • Increased flexibility

  • Reduced pain and stiffness

  • Prevention of injuries

Joint Mobilisations & Manipulations

The mobility of a joint depends on how freely it can move through a range and is crucial for effective movement. If a joint becomes too mobile or stiff, the stability and mobility balance of the joint are affected. If not corrected, hypermobile and stiff joints can lead to poor muscle activation, ligamentous strains and reduction in the animal's optimal movement.

Benefits of joint mobilisations & manipulations:

  • Improved joint function

  • Pain relief

  • Enhanced mobility

  • Stimulation of the nervous system

Electrotherapies

Electrotherapy treatments involve applying energy into the tissues to influence the mechanisms of the body

Laser

Laser is a non-invasive, painless application of infrared light into the tissues, modulating the tissue function. There are a wide range of conditions that can benefit from laser therapy such as osteoarthritis, tendon and ligament damage and, hip and elbow dysplasia.

Benefits of Laser:

  • Increases the rate of tissue healing

  • Reduces pain and inflammation
